International Cricket Council (ICC)

International Cricket Council (ICC) is an international governing body of a popular sport Cricket. It was formed on 15 June, 1909. In starting when it was founded it's name was Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909, then it was renamed to International Cricket Conference in 1965 and last it was renamed in 1989 to its current name.
The ICC has a total of 105 members :- 60 Affiliate members, 35 Associate Members and 10 full members who play official matches. The president of ICC is Sharad Pawar who was earlier president of BCCI. CEO of ICC is Haroon Lorgat.

Location
Its headquarters are in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Rules and Regulations
The ICC follows "Code of Conduct" to which teams and players in international matches are required to adhere. 


Empires and referees
ICC appoints empires and referees for seeking that a match is happening correctly. Empires wear dresses with soponsers of Emirates airline. In a match there are 3 empires :- (i) Square Leg umpire, (ii) The bowler's end umpire and (iii) Third umpire.

World Cup
ICC arranges World Cup championships of Cricket after every 4 years. In this 12 teams takes part. It has millions of viewers to watch these world cup matches. This time it is going to happen in Feburary to March. Last time's winner was Australia.
